Mother of woman hit and killed by police cruiser speaks out

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- Jaquess Harris, 26, had a voice that family members say could soothe the soul.

Jacqueline Harris says her daughter moved to Georgia with hopes of getting signed to a record label. She spent countless hours in the studio recording music.

Her mother says she last spoke with her daughter a couple of hours before she went to a party, encouraging her daughter to follow in her footsteps.

"I told her I wanted her to finish what I didn't finish doing, I told her I want you to sing. She said okay," Jacqueline Harris said.
