Catch Hunger Games at Screen on the Green

COLUMBUS, GA - The Young Professionals are not going to let the rain put a damper on their plans. After having to postpone the original event, Screen on the Green will take place Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Columbus will celebrate summer’s end with a movie under the stars at the 3rd annual Uptown Screen on the Green. A free, open to the public event presented by the Greater Columbus Georgia Young Professionals (YP), a program of the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce committed to shaping the future of Columbus through community involvement.

COLUMBUS, GA - This year marks the 77th meeting between the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee and the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College.

The annual Tuskegee Morehouse classic is set for 2:00pm at A. J. McClung Memorial Stadium on Sat. Oct. 6.

COLUMBUS, GA - The man wanted for an April murder in Columbus has been arrested near the scene of the crime.

Oscar Senior, age 31, was the suspect in the shooting of Charles Willis on Lawyer's Lane on April 13.

Woman pushes for harsh punishments for dog abusers

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)-

The thought of coming home from work still puts Lisa Painter on edge. A few weeks ago, someone broke into her home on Fort Benning and attacked her 7-month-old Bichon Frise named Josiah.

Painter told us that a can of Raid bug spray was used to poison Josiah. He died several hours after being rushed to a nearby animal hospital.

"It's someone who I knew or someone who knew the fact that I would not be home," Painter said.

Man assaulted with bat and robbed on Columbus Tech campus

COLUMBUS, GA - A Columbus man was beaten with a baseball bat on Columbus Tech's campus and robbed Wednesday morning.

The victim was in a parking lot of the school on Manchester Expressway around 8 a.m. on Sept. 26 when an unknown man assaulted him with a metal bat, leaving multiple cuts on his head, face and hands.
