Repo man rammed by car owner

COLUMBUS, GA - An Alabama man was repossessing a gold 2002 Mazda MPV on Celia Dr. in Columbus yesterday around noon.

The owner, Charles Edge, got in the car and forced the the man into the tow truck about four feet away. He was hit in both legs and rammed three or four more times, then moved out of the way.

Fort Benning soldiers to be deployed to Afghanistan for one year

FORT BENNING, GA - Approximately 70 Soldiers assigned to the 789th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company are scheduled to depart for a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan Nov. 6. 

A brief farewell ceremony will be conducted at 5 p.m. at Freedom Hall.

The 789th EOD's primary mission while deployed will be to neutralize improvised explosive devices and to conduct counter-IED missions. Counter-IED missions provide intelligence and analysis of areas, which help identify IED manufacturers, financiers and suppliers.
