Casting call for TV pilot shot in Columbus | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
COLUMBUS, GA - There will be a casting call for a TV pilot on a major cable network shot here in Columbus next weekend.
John and Don McLemore from locally-based Masterbuilt Manufacturing, Inc., are working on and appearing in the show.
The concept is that each week, the brothers, with the help of people in the community, will attempt to prepare a massive food dish (world’s largest pecan pie or biggest shrimp boil), sometimes setting or breaking a record.
Five to six people from Columbus or surrounding areas will be selected to appear with the McLemores in the TV pilot. Amateur chili cookers, bakers, chefs, family, friends… anyone with a passion for food is invited to try out.
Auditions will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25 at Masterbuilt’s offices at 1 Masterbuilt Court in Columbus. Final selections for participants will be made by the end of the day on Saturday.
LA-based producers, Jay Bienstock and Eugene Young with Bienstock Young Media will be conducting the auditions. Bienstock and Young have been involved with such projects as The Apprentice, Survivor, Bachelor Pad, Deal or No Deal and Family Feud.
The TV pilot will be shot in the Columbus area, using Columbus businesses and citizens. Production is currently slated for March.
If the pilot is successful, the network may order a series for possible air next summer. Directions to Masterbuilt’s offices are available on Masterbuilt’s Facebook page and website.
