Chief Operating Officer of XCOR Aerospace to visit Columbus State University | Business
COLUMBUS, GA. (WTVM) -- Andrew Nelson, Chief Operating Officer of XCOR Aerospace, will visit Columbus State University on Thursday, March 28th, to participate in an Industry & Education Roundtable Lunch and Forum.
The event will center around future collaborations and workforce development strategies for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) career fields in Georgia.
XCOR is one of the leading commercial space companies in horizontal launch and space tourism. It recently garnered international attention when 22 flights on their Lynx suborbital spacecraft were purchased by Unilever as part of a global ad campaign for the AXEApollo personal hygiene products for men.
XCOR teammate, Khaki Rodway, Director of Payload Sales and Operations, will be a panel lead during the two and a half hour event to be held at the Cunningham Center for Leadership Development beginning at noon.
Other panelists include Dr. John Olds, CEO of SpaceWorks Enterprises, Dr. Stephen Ruffin, Director of Georgia's Space Grant Consortium, and Dr. Isaac Crumbly, Director of Fort Valley State University's Cooperative Development Energy Program.
This is event is part of Columbus State University's inaugural NeXtGen STEM Immersion Conference, an event that will kick off Thursday morning with more than 800 middle and high school students exploring STEM careers.
