Bus driver held at gunpoint before starting route | Crime
COLUMBUS, GA - A local bus driver was robbed at gunpoint on Sheffield Dr as he was heading towards his bus for the morning route on Jan. 23 .
The victim said that an unknown man with white material covering his face pointed a gun at him and said, "Give me your money or I'll kill you."
When he said he didn't have any money, the suspect hit him in the face with one hand and struck him on the head with the small caliber revolver.
The suspect grabbed the victim and took his wallet out of his back pocket. The wallet had $75 in cash, the man's driver's license, and other items inside.
Once the robber had the wallet, he started to run. When he was about ten feet away, he turned around and fired once in the victim's direction then kept running.
The victim refused EMS and appeared to be fine when police arrived.
