Elderly woman robbed and kidnapped at gunpoint | Crime
COLUMBUS, GA - Columbus Police and Crime Stoppers need your help finding two suspects who kidnapped and robbed an elderly woman in January.
Police say that on Sunday, Jan. 27 at approximately 7:45 am, an elderly female was getting into her vehicle to go to church. A black male approached her with a silver gun and told her that he was homeless and wanted her money.
The suspect then told her to drive the car as he got into the car with her.
The elderly woman drove the vehicle for a while until the suspect told her to stop and get into the trunk of the car.
After the victim was in the trunk the suspect stopped the vehicle and picked up another male suspect and they drove around with the elderly woman still in the trunk of the car.
While the victim was in the trunk, the two suspects asked for her money and bankcard. The victim informed the two that she had no money and they threatened to shoot her.
When the vehicle came to a stop and she did not hear anything for a while, the victim found the trunk release and attempted to exit the trunk.
There was a person nearby that helped the victim in get out of the trunk and called police.
The first suspect is described as a black male in his late 20’s, 5’7” to 5’8”; slim build and a small face. He was wearing a knit cap, athletic suit with matching colors and yellow and green fancy gloves.
Nothing is known about the second male suspect.
If your information leads to an arrest and indictment, you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.00, and you do not have to give your name. You will be given a number for identification.
