COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- The Democratic race for Muscogee County sheriff might not be over just yet.
According to the election officials at the Government Center, a recount was requested Monday by Muscogee County Sheriff Candidate Pam Brown. The elections office granted that request and will start recounting votes Thursday at 10 a.m.
Last week, a final vote of all the ballots, including military absentee and provisional, for Tuesday's primary election showed incumbent John Darr beating Brown by 71 votes.
The winner of the race will go on to face Mark LaJoye, a republican contending for sheriff, in November.
