COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- For one accused drug manufacturer, missing rent meant more than just eviction.
Muscogee County Marshals entered a home on Hodges Drive in Columbus Tuesday night to remove the belongings of an overdue tenant after the occupants failed to answer several warnings from the landlord.
While deputies were emptying the contents of the house onto the street, they discovered more than $24,000 worth of marijuana and growing equipment, along with two rifles, all of which was seized.
The tenants were not home at the time and police are still looking for them.
Authorities are investigating to determine exactly which resident will be held responsible for growing the marijuana.
