COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- Today was a turkey
giveaway extravaganza in Columbus.
Long lines wrapped around
the K-Mart on Macon Road Tuesday as more than a thousand 10-12 pound turkeys
were given away to anyone in line.
All you had to do was show
up and you were handed a ticket.
The annual giveaway was
sponsored by New Birth Outreach Church in Midland, and the church was more than
happy to provide the pre-holiday birds to families in the community.
People began lining up
around 10 a.m. and church volunteers were on hand until they finished giving
away the turkeys and also a batch of collard greens.
