Chicken Salad Chick celebrates five year anniversary | News
AUBURN, AL (WTVM)- It started in the kitchen of an Auburn woman's home, and five short years later the restaurant phenomenon known as Chicken Salad Chick is spreading rapidly throughout the southeast.
Auburn resident Stacy Brown had a craving for chicken salad and developed a recipe that became popular when she sold it out of her home. She soon opened a storefront that grew quickly into a favorite lunchtime hotspot.
"It started in Auburn and that whole first week we sold out every single day, we had lines out the door. We realized quickly that something more had to be done," explains Chicken Salad Chick's Director of Marketing, Ali Rauch.
Now five years later, and with multiple locations open throughout Alabama and Georgia, Chicken Salad Chick will be expanding even further throughout the region to introduce the nation to that "simple concept, with a superb experience."
"We are very proud to say that we have 54 restaurants in development to open throughout the southeast and in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida and North and South Carolina, and that's just the beginning," says Rauch.
With over 15 original flavors, locals know it truly is the best chicken salad you will ever eat.
"I've tried several and they're all delicious. If you've never tried it, try it. You won't regret it," explains Chicken Salad Chick customer, Diane Arrington.
After Arrington's first experience at Chicken Salad Chick one year ago, she took some home to her daughter, who quickly became a chick fan for life.
"She loved it so much, she is now the new manager at the Chicken Salad Chick in Columbus," says Arrington.
To celebrate this five-year milestone, Chicken Salad Chick will host promotions and giveaways next week.
"If you love Chicken Salad Chick you better take part next week because you can take some home for free," states Rauch.
Customers can enter to win by visiting the Chicken Salad Chick's Facebook page or visiting the Auburn or Opelika restaurants for lunch starting Monday.
