COLUMBUS, GA - Each year, during the cold winter months, Valley Rescue Mission distributes heaters and blankets to the homeless and less fortunate throughout the Valley area.
They are currently out of blankets and heaters to give out.
Many people may have a home but they are not able to afford to keep the heat on. Also, there are those who can’t even afford a home and have to spend the night in the cold on the streets.
That’s where Valley Rescue Mission comes in. We have a team that goes out to the needy and distributes blankets and coats and encourages them to seek help.
When the temperature drops, lives are at stake and the heater or blanket given could save a life.
They need:
New space heaters
Blankets
Jackets
Gloves
Beanies
Donations may be dropped off at the Mission, 2903 Second Avenue in Columbus, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
