8th grader wins Muscogee County Spelling Bee with gargoyle | News
COLUMBUS, GA - Two Columbus students are moving on to the regional spelling bee competition after taking first and second place Wednesday.
Pooja Prabakaran, an 8th Grade student at Blackmon Road Middle School, won the 2013 Muscogee County School District Spelling Bee after accurately spelling the word gargoyle.
The 2nd Place winner was Nicolas Duncan, an 8th grade student at Veterans Memorial and the 3rd Place winner was Victor Williams, an 8th grade student at Fort Middle School Service Learning Magnet Academy.
The district competition is scheduled for February 23, in Fort Valley. The regional winner will compete in the state competition.
