COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- A Carver High student is in trouble with the law after he was arrested this week on drug possession on school grounds.

A school administrator noticed a classroom had the smell of marijuana emanating from it; the administrator then notified a police officer, working school security, about the discovery.

Former Carver High Football player Marcus Parks, 18, was arrested and charged with marijuana possession with the intent to distribute.

We spoke with a close relative who says Parks has never been charged or in trouble before.

He is currently behind bars at the Muscogee County Jail. Parks, a senior, is expected to graduate this year.
