Photo Gallery | Columbus challengers take on Tough Mudder

COLUMBUS, GA - Some local challengers went to take on the 12 mile, 27 obstacle course known as the Tough Mudder over the weekend.

Some of the events included simply climbing different barriers to running through live wires.

One contestant shares his thoughts on the day:

The Tough Mudder was the most physically and mentally demanding thing I've ever done. The 12 miles was a task on its own, but there were also 27 obstacles throughout those 12 miles ranging from crawling in mud, jumping into containers filled with ice and water, swimming in a cold lake, to walking through a wires that emit electrical charges. From the first mile, we were running soaking wet against the cold and wind. Overall, the Tough Mudder was a memorable experience that made life seem so much easier.
